Welcome to CRC 392 Molecular Evolution in Prebiotic Environments
How could molecules in a prebiotic setting have created robust Darwinian evolution and the first sequence information of Life? We are a cross-disciplinary network, bringing together expertise from a wide range of fields, including biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry, geosciences and theoretical physics to bring this age-old question closer to an answer. This collaborative effort is funded by German Research Foundation (DFG) and is a collaboration of several renowned German universities and institutions: LMU Munich (host), TUM (co-host), Heidelberg University, JMU Würzburg, MPI of Biochemistry, TU Dortmund, University of Augsburg, and University of Stuttgart.
Kick-off Meeting in Würzburg
The activities of CRC 392 started with a kick-off meeting at the University Würzburg, hosted by the group of Claudia Höbartner. After a short report on the start of the projects, we discussed core topics of early evolution in four parallel sessions. Thanks for the nice hospitality and the great meeting!
The Molecular Origins of Life, Munich conference addresses one of the most fundamental questions of science: How could life originate? With 24 lectures accompanied by Q&A, panel discussion and poster sessions, this international conference brings together scientists from wide range of disciplines, namely: astrobiology, astrophysics, biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry, geosciences and theoretical chemistry and physics. The conference aims to represent and to discuss the state of the art in the origin of life field.
